The Police in Zamfara has restated commitment to provision of adequate security to ensure protection of tertiary institutions of learning in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf, stated this when he visited the Federal University Gusau, Federal College of Education and Police Secondary School in Gusau, the state capital.
This was contained in a statement by the Spokesman of the Command, Muhammad Shehu, on Thursday in Gusau.
Kolo said the measure was in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali, to provide adequate security to schools across the country.
The CP reiterated commitment of the Command to the security and safety of all the schools across the state.
He urged the staff and students to be security conscious, and report suspicious movements to the police and other security agencies.
The statement further quoted the management of the schools as commending IGP and the police for their concern to the security of the schools.
