Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel, has given reasons for their 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
Dramatic Late goals from Joselu ensured the victory for Real Madrid, after Alphonso Davies wowed the Bernabeu crowd with a strong performance in the second half.
Speaking to DAZN, Tuchel expressed his feelings about the loss: “It hurts. It’ll take a while to recover, but on the one hand, it’s a defeat where we gave our all on the pitch. Of course, it’s tough to accept. It’s part of reality. No regrets. However, there were too many injuries, a few too many substitutions, and too many cramps.”
Unfortunately, this defeat means that Bayern Munich will go trophyless at the end of the season. Tuchel is set to leave the club after only 14 months in charge.
Real Madrid will now face Bayern’s Bundesliga rivals, Borussia Dortmund, in the final on June 1 at Wembley stadium.
