Migration IOM and the Federal Ministry of Interior are collaborating in the area of border management to stem illegal migration.
The IOM Chief of Mission, Laurent de-Boeck, said this during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja.
The chief of mission said that the collaboration includes supporting the Nigerian Immigration Service on ways to manage the nation’s borders.
According to him, the IOM has visited Niger Republic to see how Nigerian border and that of Niger can be better managed by both countries to tackle the menace of illegal migration headlong.
In his remarks, Tunji-Ojo promised to cooperate with the agency to actualise its mandate of addressing migration and other related issues.
