The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC said that telecommunications operators carried out over fourteen thousand Mobile Number Portability activities in February.
The commission made this known in its “Incoming and Outgoing Porting Activities of Mobile Network Operators’ Report”. It said in the report that over ten thousand subscribers ported within the networks in January, hence an increase of more than three thousand activities in February.
It said that out of the over fourteen porting activities recorded in February, more than seven thousand were “Incoming Porting Activities, while over six thousand, nine hundred were “Outgoing Porting Activities’’.
The exercise was launched on April 22, 2013 by NCC, with the aim of deepening competition in the industry.
