A season football manager and administrator Coach Oche Peters Matthew has warned the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, against hiring a new foreign technical adviser for Super Eagles ahead of AFCON 2022 holding in Cameroon.

The erstwhile coach of Nigerdock said that the Super Eagles’ caretaker
coach Austine Eguavoen be allow to lead the team to AFCON lest it
would lead to nothing but disaster.

He said there is nothing Jose Mourinho or any other foreign coach can
do for Nigeria more than to bring total disaster at AFCON , so it is better
to allow Eguavoen and his assistants to manage the Eagles for now.

He called for total disengagement of ex Super Eagles players around the
national team saying their presence is unnecessary distraction, adding
that they have nothing to offer the Eagles.

He also advised the president of NFF Amaju Pinnick to seek advice
from his predecessors to chart a way forward for Nigerian football
especially the handling of the national team.
