Federal Government and the labour unions meeting ended with a decision to resume on June 19 to agree on implementation framework on resolutions reached.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who led the government side, made this known at the end of a meeting between labour and government representatives at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He added that the meeting agreed on a seven-point resolution to cushion the effect of petrol subsidy removal.

Gbajabiamila pointed out that the government and the organised labour are to establish a joint committee to review the proposal for any wage increase or award and establish a framework and timeline for implementation.

The Speaker also added that meeting also agreed to review issues hindering effective delivery in the education sector and propose solutions for implementation.
