Reports say the attacks targeted the offices of the mayor of Mogadishu, leaving six government officials dead and several others injured.
A statement by his Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq, the UN Chief commiserated with the families and loved ones of the victims. He reiterated “the full support and solidarity of the United Nations with the people and Federal Government of Somalia”.
Guterres said the UN remained committed to supporting the people of Somalia in the pursuit of peace, stability and development.
According to media reports, the terror group, al-Shabab, has claimed responsibility for the attack carried out by a female suicide bomber.
The UN said mayor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Osman, was one of those injured in Wednesday’s attack. The world body added that Osman is reportedly unconscious, and is due to be flown to Turkey for treatment.��wS7}�
