A Pan-Africa Socialist Movement, the Progressive Students Movement, PSM, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to investigate alleged six years of unpaid Students Industrial Work Scheme, SIWES stipends. The Movement’s President in Nigeria Bestman Okereafor made the call in a statement in Enugu.

A pan-African socialist movement, said it attention has been drawn to an injustice going on in the Industrial Training Fund, ITF which has ran into millions of Naira.

The movement noted that added this has caused the non-payment of the Students Industrial Work Scheme, SIWES stipends between 2012 and 2018, calling on EFCC to probe the unpaid backlog of the stipends.

He said millions of Nigerian students never received the fifteen thousand naira which he described as absolutely alarming and contrary to the Anti-Corruption Crusade of President Buhari.

According to Okereafor, the movement is giving EFCC seventy eight hours to commence investigation or face a protest soon by over fifty thousand students.
