The House of Representatives has urged Federal Government to intervene by providing relief materials to victims of banditry, and kidnappings in Kaduna State.
This followed the adoption of a motion by Shehu Balarabe at the plenary in Abuja.
Presenting the motion, Balarabe said that attacks, killings, and kidnappings of people as well as destruction of property by suspected bandits in the state has taken awful dimension and has become a daily affair in Giwa/Birnin Gwari Federal Constituency.
He added that suspected bandits had displaced most communities in the area, adding that the attacks were being carried out day and night.
The House, therefore, urged the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, the National Emergency Management Agency, and the National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons to intervene by providing relief materials to the victims.
The House also mandated its Committee on Emergency and Disaster preparedness to ensure compliance.
