House of Representatives has called for a thorough investigation into the reported cases incessant killings and destruction of lives and properties in some communities in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The call followed the adoption of a motion of Urgent Public Importance, presented by Hassan Shinkafi during plenary in Abuja.
Shinkafi said that the attacks came at a period when citizens were experiencing hardship due to economic challenges
The lawmaker said the attacks had caused severe pains to residents of the affected communities.
Adopting the motion, the House urged the Inspector General of Police to set up a tactical team to unravel the mystery behind the attacks and report to the House in two weeks.
The House also urged the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA to urgently support victims in the affected areas with relief materials
