A new Commissioner of Police, Umar Muri has resumed duty in Kaduna State Police Command.
The State’s Police Spokesman, Yakubu Sabo, who made this known in a statement in Kaduna, said Muri is the 38th Commissioner of Police in the State and hails from Muri, in Karim Lamido Local Government area of Taraba State.
Muri took over from Ali Janga, who is scheduled to attend the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
Muri had served in various capacities in the Force, amongst which were Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command and Personal Assistant to the then sole Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Bukar Ali.
He was also with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, while he served as Assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge of Criminal Investigations Department, CID in the FCT Command.
Until his deployment as Commissioner of Police in Kaduna, Muri was the CP in charge of Procurement, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
