
The Federal Executive Council, FEC has approved contracts value at 328.87 million dollars in consultancy services for the supervision of the various railway projects in the country. It also approved 115.4 billion naira for the dualisation of Kano-Kazaure-Kongolam highway in Katsina State.
Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi announced while briefing reporters in Abuja, after the weekly virtual Council meeting, presided by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Amaechi, while giving a breakdown of his presentations, said he presented two memoranda, one of which was in respect of the consultancy services, adding that the second one was for the concessioning of the Onitsha River Port.
Also, Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola said the council approved a contract for the dualisation of the Kano-Kazaure-Kongolam Road at the cost of 115.4 billion naira. He explained that the project, which covers 131.4 kilometres, was expected to be completed within a period of 48 months.
On her part, Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, while briefing newsmen also, said FEC approved an Energy Transition Plan for the country. She added that this will clearly set out the pathway for Nigeria in achieving this.
Also, Minister of State for Health, Olorunimbe Mamora the approved the award of contract for consultancy services to facilitate the building of the corporate headquarters of National Health Insurance Scheme in Abuja.
