The Kaduna State Police Command has warned that it would deal decisively with persons and groups planning to stage any form of protest or procession in the state.
The Command said the ban on protests in the state was still in force and would not condone any attempt to breach the order with the aim of destabilizing existing peace.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmad Abdur -Rahman, said at a press briefing in Kaduna that the command had received report on such plan and advised those hatching it to shelve the idea.
He enjoined people of the state to continue with their lawful businesses and alert security agencies of any act capable of destabilizing the peace. The Police Commissioner also warned against declaration of fake results by desperate politicians to scuttle ongoing election process, adding that they want to warn such people to change their decision for the good of all.
He reminded politicians that only the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was mandated by law to announce election results.
Abdur-Rahman commended people of Kaduna state for exhibiting maturity during the Presidential and National Assembly elections and urged them to remain peaceful throughout the period of the elections.
