President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met behind closed doors with governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, led the governors to the meeting.

Although the governors declined to speak with the media after the meeting, it is believed to be in connection with last-minute hunting for a running mate for the party’s standard-bearer, Bola Tinubu.

Since he emerged last Wednesday, Tinubu had been under pressure to produce a running mate.
