The Senate has approved one hundred and twenty nine billion naira as final subsidy arrears claim to sixty seven oil marketing companies.
The endorsement brought the total of all three approvals given by the Senate on subsidy payments between July last year and now to five hundred and forty five point nine trillion naira.
This followed the adoption of the report of the Committee on Petroleum downstream, chaired by Kabiru Garba Marafa.
The Senate had last week approved another sixty eight point nine trillion naira for nineteen oil marketers, bringing the total to four hundred and sixteen point nine trillion naira.
The Senate also commended the Federal Government for its commitment to clear all subsidy arrears claims in order to put an end to all issues concerning subsidy payments.
