Bandits have released another group of fifteen people they kidnapped from Katsina State communities as part of the peace agreement with the state government.
The victims have been in the kidnappers hideout located in Dansadau forest in Zamfara, for over one month.
It would be recalled that thirty abducted victims were earlier released as part of the peace treaty.
The Katsina State Government initiated the peace dialogue with the bandits to end continued attacks on communities in eight local government areas of the state.
The Governor’s Director General on Media, Abdu Labaran in a statement said the victims were handed over to Governor Aminu Masari by the Transition Committee Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area, Haruna Musa in Katsina. The statement added that the government would meet with officials of Zamfara State and their counterparts in neighbouring state of Maradi in Niger Republic to discuss on how to sustain the peace process.
