Governor Nyesom Wike, of Rivers State, says he has nothing against the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, who he lost the presidential ticket to.
Wike made the statement in Port Harcourt, when he received some chieftains of the state on the occasion of his 55th birthday.
The Rivers State Governor, however, said the solution to the crisis in their party is for the North to step down as the National Chairman of PDP.
Wike and his G-5 group have been agitating for the removal of Iyorchia Ayu as the National Chairman of PDP.
The group also stressed that the North cannot produce the party’s National Chairman and presidential candidate, and demanded that the Chairmanship be zoned to the southern part of the country.
Wike noted that he never regretted running for the party’s presidential ticket.
