The Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the N30,000 minimum wage bill into law.
General Secretary, NLC, Peter Ozo-Eson, and the President of TUC Bobboi Kaigama, in separate interviews in Abuja, described the action as laudable.
Ozo-Eson said that the NLC and Nigerian workers appreciated the swift response of Buhari, adding that such move would assuage the feelings of Nigerian workers.
According to him, we hope that all employers of labour will commence the process of implementing the new minimum wage of N30,000 as passed by Buhari.
He commended the National Assembly for not playing politics with the Nigerian workers by given the minimum wage bill a speedy passage.
On his part, Kaigama, congratulated Nigerian workers for the new minimum wage, adding that no stone would be left unturned to see that Nigerian workers get a living wage.
