The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Winifred Oyo-Ita has said that the unrealistic demands by the Senior Staff Union members were responsible for the delay in the implementation of the New National Minimum Wage.

She said this at the two-day retreat for top management staff of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Manpower Development Institutes and Federal Training Centres in Abuja.
The retreat was on the 2017-2020 Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan, meant to drive the transformation of the Nigerian civil service in line with global standard.
She also said that a Presidential Committee on Consequential Adjustment has been set up for smooth execution of the minimum wage and that negotiations were on between the government and the unions.
