The Federal Government has applauded Kano State Government for taking pro-active measures to curtail Lassa fever in the state.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Enahire stated this during a condolence visit to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, in Kano.‎

Enahire, however, charged health workers to always observe ethical standard while dealing with such kind of diseases, so as to avoid further complication and spread of the deadly disease.

The State governor’s spokesman, Anwar Awal, in a statement said the Minister sympathised with the government, people and family of two doctors who died when they got in contact with the first casualty, whom they conducted a surgical operation for.‎

‎The minister, who expressed his shock over the death, prayed for the repose of their souls and for the families, the courage to bear the lost.

The State’s Commissioner for Health, Aminu Tsanyawa, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Binta Bala announced that the ministry took pro-active measures immediately after sending the sample to the National Referral Centre in Abuja.
