The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has condemned the attacks on businesses and killings of Nigerians. It blamed the South African government for the increasing xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other Africans.
While demanding an instant end to the killings and destruction of properties, NLC in a statement also wanted appropriate compensation and an assurance that the killings and attacks on Nigerian businesses would never happen again in South Africa.
NLC’s President, Ayuba Wabba in the statement said the attacks and killings are awful and unacceptable.
It added that the frequency and increase of the attacks are not only unacceptable but are capable of destabilising the bilateral relations between the government and people of Nigeria and government and South Africa.
