The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna state chapter, says the release of Kankara school children abducted by gunmen in Katsina is positive news to all.

Chairman of the chapter Reverend John Joseph Hayab, who gave the commendation in a statement issued in Kaduna, however, noted that the spirit and tempo that the government and the security agencies deployed to get the children back home should be sustained and engaged to get others still in captivity to return home.

He said he could imagine the joy, peace, and excitement of the parents and all well-wishers on the heels of the good news heralding the school children’s return. Hayab also noted that to make many more homes, families and communities happy, they appeal to the government to double her effort to rescue many more Nigerians that are in the dens of bandits, criminals and terrorists.

In same vain, The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI has lauded the Federal, Katsina and Zamfara State Governments, as well as security agencies, for successfully rescuing students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina, who were kidnapped on December 11.

Secretary-General of JNI, Khalid Aliyu, who gave the commendation in a statement issued in Kaduna to newsmen, said that rescue of the boys was an unprecedented feat that was worthy of commendation by all, particularly by well-meaning citizens.
