Kaduna State Government is planning to recruit ten thousand teachers through the State Universal Basic Education, SUBEB.
Commissioner for Education in the state, Sani Bello, said the decision is coming as part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the education sector in the state.
Director of Planning in the Ministry, Salisu Baba Lawal, announced this during discussions on findings and lessons learned from the study, on the implementation of the teacher’s recruitment, deployment, and retention policy in Kaduna state.
Bello also emphasized collaborative measures between the Kaduna state government and the federal government to ensure security personnel presence in schools located in conflict and crisis areas.
He outlined plans for teacher and student training on early warning signs of insecurity, highlighting the partnership with the United Nations UNICEF in this endeavor.
On his part, Kaduna State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT Ibrahim Dalhatu, underlined the need for constructive criticism, and recommendations for policy improvements.
