In preparation for the September 4 Kaduna State Local Government LG elections, stakeholders are suing for peace.
The stakeholders include Christian and Muslim clerics and civil society organisations.
In an interaction with journalists in Kaduna, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna, Pastor Yohanna Buru, stressed the need for peace and unity before during and after the LG elections.
Buru said the LG elections are coming amid security challenges and high cost of living and so there was the need to sensitize the public on the need to fear God and promote religious tolerance.
He called on residents to equally pray to God to bring an end to the security challenges bedeviling the state.
A Muslim cleric from Barnawa, Kaduna, Gambo Abdullahi also urged the youth to join hands to spread the message of peace and unity during the elections.
He stressed the need for every stakeholder to support the state government toward having a successful poll.
