The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna has directed counsels representing their clients in the matter before it to study documents brought to it by witnesses to appear before it and decide which ones are genuine for the witnesses.

The issue came up when counsels to first and second petitioners Isa Ashiru Kudan and People’s Democratic Party, PDP Ferdinard Obi SAN signified his intention to bring six hundred and eighty five witnesses to appear before it to testify, as a result of  demand of Obi.

It  generated a lot argument from legal counsels of the first, second and third defendants: the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Nasir El-Rufai and All Progressive Congress, APC lawyers; Aliyu Umar, Abdulhakim  Mustapha, SAN and  Ibrahim Bawa, SAN.

While Justice Ibrahim Bako had adjourned the case to Monday 17th June, he also agreed that witnesses should appear before the tribunal to testify.
