The governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Kaduna had adjoined sitting to Thursday 18 July less than an hour after it resumes from recess today.
Liberty news Correspondent, Muhammed Idris reports that this was due to an appeal made by counsel to the first defendant The Independent national Electoral Commission, INEC Barrister Aliyu Umar asserting that INEC witnesses could not appear today Monday before the tribunal and till Wednesday. He said those meant to appear are still attending a meeting organised by INEC headquarters to review the 2019 election.
The presiding Judge, Justice Ibrahim told counsel to INEC to solicit the consent of other counsels on whether they agree to his request.

Counsel to the first and second petitioner Isa Ashiru Kudan and the Peoples Democratic party, PDP Barister Elisha Kura SAN, counsel to the second defendant Nasiru El-rufai, Peter Ayuba and counsel to the third defendant APC, Ibrahim Bawa SAN all agreed with the plea of counsel to the 1st defendant INEC. In addition, Aliyu Umar said INEC intend to present ten witnesses before the tribunal in fives days as directed by the tribunal.
Meanwhile justice Ibrahim Bako had adjoin sitting till Thursday 18-07-2019.
