The National Information Officer of the United Nations Information Center, UNIC, Oluseyi Soremekun has advised youths to be tolerant of people around them, irrespective of their tribe, religion and class.

The UN officer gave the advice to a cross-section of students during the Commemoration of the ‘International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust’, in Lagos. He said that such Days must be observed, to address the issue of rising hatred against people either because of their tribe or religion.

January 27th, every year, is set aside to mark the international memorial day of the tragedy of the Holocaust that occurred during the Second World War.

It was reported that an exhibition of history, titled: ‘Some were Neighbors ‘was displayed during the programme.

It showcased a range of activities that led to the Holocaust, including how some neighbors were perpetrators of the tragedy, and how others helped to bring an end to it.
