Unknown gunmen have kidnapped some students of Saint Albert the Great Institute of Philosophy, a Catholic seminary situated at Fayit community in Kagoma, Jama’a local government area in Kaduna State.
Chancellor of the Catholic diocese of Kafanchan Emmanuel Okolo, while confirming the development in a statement, said six other seminarians were injured during the attack.
He added that at the time of the attack, 10 formators including the Rectors of the Seminary, 132 seminarians, 6 non-seminarians, one female non-academic staff and one steward were on ground.
However a dispatch of soldiers of the Operation Safe Haven, OPSH accompanied some formators and the injured seminarians to Salem Hospital in Kafanchan.
It was also gathered that from the narrative of the seminary security agents, the law enforcement personnel and the headcount conducted after Mass on the 12th October, it was confirmed that three Theology Four seminarians were kidnapped.
