The Mathematical Association of Nigeria, MAN has organized a conference with a view to proffer solutions to the current security challenges bedeviling the country via mathematical models.
MAN President Mamman Musa announced this at the opening of their 57th Annual Conference, in Kano, with the theme of the conference is “Securing Nigeria: A Mathematical Perspective”. He noted that over 80 papers would be presented at the conference.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano Sagir Adamu-Abbas, thanked the association for giving the university chance of host the conference, noting that mathematics is a simple subject.
In a keynote address, a former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, said that mathematics was the most important technique in crime detection. According to him, mathematics also plays vital role in military operations and cybercrime.
