The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently fire the current service chiefs, saying they have lost touch with reality in the fight against Boko Haram terrorists.
The Association also condemned the brutal killing of a student of the University of Maiduguri, Ropvil Daciya Dalep.
NANS President Danielson Bamidele Akpan while reacting to the murder of Dalep, urged Buhari to take control of the country so as to arrest the worsening security situation confronting the nation.
Akpan recalled that Dalep was kidnapped on his way back to school by the Boko Haram insurgent group on January 9, 2019, alongside others in a vehicle enroute Maiduguri from Jos.
He said further that the students were worried that the dastardly act was coming a few days after the shocking news of the execution of the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Michika local government area of Adamawa State, Reverend Lawani Andimi, who was kidnapped and murdered by the same Boko Haram group in a video they recorded and released.
