Healthcare: KDSG Urges Women To Enroll In Insurance Scheme

The Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority, KADCHMA has advised women to enroll in the scheme for improved health and survival of family.

Director-General of the agency Abubakar Hassan made the call during a sensitisation meeting organised by Markfema Nigeria Limited, a third-party administrator with the health scheme with women groups in Kaduna.

Hassan also explained that women have more health problems but are poorly informed on the benefits of the scheme, adding that the insurance scheme was a way of contributing funds for payment of healthcare services by all residents of the state.

He however decried the increasing rise in maternal and child mortality due to lack of insurance and urged women, as a matter of urgency to register in the scheme. Hassan added that individual premium for health insurance at the agency costs 10,650 naira annually while the family premium was 57,000 naira annually.

In his remark, Marketing Executive, Markfema Nigeria Limiter Maryam Yahaya lamented that women are left behind in the enrolment of the scheme due to lack of information. She also stressed that administrator would continue to sensitise and engage more women groups to enroll and benefit from the insurance scheme put in place by the state government.
