The Federal Ministry of Health says it will leverage on the Value for Money initiative of the World Health Organisation, WHO to boost health care delivery system in Nigeria.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Abdulazeez Mashi said this at the maiden edition of WHO African Region Value for Money Training of Trainers workshop in Abuja.
Mashi, who was represented by Director, Health Planning Research and Statistics, Emmanuel Meribole said with the ongoing reform in the health sector, Nigeria would benefit enormously from the intervention.
According to Mashi, Nigeria is currently implementing a number of health financing reforms, which will help to redefine and shape the course of the nation’s universal health coverage aspirations and the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
Officer-in-Charge, WHO in Nigeria Peter Lasuba said the workshop was in line with the world health body Afro-transformation agenda and the overall WHO reform.
