President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been advised to adopt President Javier Milei of Argentina’s approach to reforms, and stop blaming opposition political parties and his predecessor.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in a statement titled, ‘Argentina’s Javier Milei approach to reforms should serve as a lesson for Tinubu’, said both Milei and Tinubu took over in 2023, and inherited a disoriented economy, but both applied different measures to recovery.
The 2023 presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stated that what President Javier Milei did to return his country to a place where investors are ‘starting to believe’ should serve as a lesson to Nigeria’s Tinubu.
Atiku stressed that unless there are clear-cut policies, and pathway to economic transformation predicated on a leadership-led sacrifice, there will be discontentment, especially among the youths.
