The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has registered about 2.5m voters for the November 16 Governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi states.

The Commission said over one point six million registered voters are for Kogi state, while about eight hundred and sixty seven are for Bayelsa state, adding that more than  one million, 500 voters have collected their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs in Kogi state.

INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Nasarawa and Kwara, Mohammed Haruna made this known in Lokoja at the presentation of the soft copy of the register of voters to the 23 political parties listed for the November election.

According to Haruna, the commission’s official Register of Voters used for the 2019 general election will be used for the November governorship election.

Also, INEC National Commissioner supervising Bayelsa, Edo and Rivers states, May Agbamuche-Mbu said in Yenagoa that 45 political parties are contesting in the election.
