The Sokoto Sultanate Council has enjoined the electorates to come out in their numbers  and vote candidates of their choice in Saturday’s  Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

The council gave the charge in a statement signed by the Council’s Secretary, Umar Ladan in Sokoto.

It also appealed to the electorate to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the election while urging Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct transparent  free, fair and credible elections.

According to the Secretary, the Sultanate Council appreciates Islamic clerics and scholars for their sustained prayers for peace, unity and progress of the nation.

The council further urged political parties to restrain their members from any act that will disrupt the electoral process.

It also appealed to the contestants to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship, concede defeat and cooperate with the ultimate winners as governors and lawmakers.
