Lagos state has recorded the first rainfall but some local farmers in the State urged their members to delay planting.
Some farmers and motorists gave their opinion on the early rain in separate interviews. They noted that the first rain is not enough to start planting crops.
A vegetable farmer, Chukwuemeka Chuba said it is a good sign that the rain came early this year, but warned farmers against early commencement of planting to prevent loss of crops.
On his part, a crop farmer, Michael Aleagbu asked local farmers to be patient and observe the trend of the rain before starting the planting season.
Also, a commercial motorist plying the
Igando/Isheri to Iyana-Ipaja route, Solomon Eromosele, said the rain was most welcome and a good
start for the year.
