The Nigerian Government says it will soon begin the evacuation of Nigerians from Lebanon following the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
In a statement, the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs said while some Nigerians have indicated interest in being evacuated, a good number of them are unwilling to do so.
The spokesperson of the ministry, Eche Abu-Obe said in a statement that the Nigerian Government has activated emergency protocols to ensure the swift and safe evacuation of its citizens from Lebanon.
He said the ministry is working with the president, the National Emergency Management Agency, the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency and other relevant bodies to ensure the safe return of the country’s citizens from Lebanon.
