The Federal Government is committed to resolving the four remaining issues surrounding the Nigeria-Cameroon border dispute, which saw Nigeria cede the Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon following a ruling by the International Court of Justice ICJ.

The Director-Genera of the commission Adamu Adaji, told newsmen in Abuja that both Nigeria and Cameroon had been working to demarcate the boundary.

Adaji said Nigeria’s representative at the Nigeria-Cameron Commission under the auspices of the UN was also not in support of the contractor’s action of ”entering” where the agreement was pending.

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, asked Cameroonian government to make some compromise in its ongoing boundary demarcation issue with Nigeria.

Malami, who was in Yaoundé for the 33rd Session of the United Nations Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission.

He assured the Cameroonian government of Nigeria’s readiness to bring lasting solution to the dispute; the areas of dispute between both countries include the Bakassi Peninsula and its dates back to 1994.
