The Lekki Estate Residents and Stakeholders Association in Lagos State have called for concerted efforts by the Federal Government and stakeholders to address regular flooding in the locality during the rainy season.

The association’s President, Olorogun James Emadoye, made the call in Lagos on the need to tackle immobility, loss of lives and property caused by flooding in the area.

He urged the government to utilise the ecological funds to provide help for Lekki and its occupants before population explosion and the flooding got worse.

Emadoye implored the government to invest more in the development of the coastal roads and railways to minimise usage of the single Lekki-Epe expressway. He further advised that instead of the continuous tolling of the Lekki Epe Expressway, a new coastal road should be built and tolled.
