The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, met with the Resident Electoral Commissioners at its Headquarters in Abuja.
According to the information released via the Commission’s verified Twitter handle, the agenda of the meeting include was a review of the conduct of presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday, February 23rd.
The RECs are expected to share their experiences, the challenges encountered and the lessons learnt.
The meeting also has on the agenda discussions on the preparation for the governorship, State House of Assembly and FCT elections coming up on March 9th, 2019.
Yakubu, during his brief speech at the opening ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the commission in Abuja, said that governorship and House of Assembly elections would be held on March 9th in 29 states, having conducted staggered elections in seven states of the country.
