The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Justice Tanko Muhammad has warned judges that will handle election petition cases to avoid any form of partisanship.
Justice Muhammad gave the admonition during the swearing in of seventeen additional judges that will serve as Chairmen and Members of election petition tribunals for the 2019 polls.
He urged them to submit themselves to the sanctity of the rule of law and supremacy of the constitution in the discharge of their judicial functions.
He remanded them that their appointment to
serve in the tribunals is well conceived, and therefore tasked them to do
everything within their ability to justify the confidence reposed in them.
