Niger Delta: Minister Says FG Begins Implementation Of 46.83bn Agric Scheme

The Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC and United Nations Children Fund, UNICEF are partnering on proactive measures to address the challenges of basic education in the country.

The Head of Public Relations and Protocol Unit of the commission Ossom Ossom, made this known in a statement in Abuja.

The statement quoted the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Hamid Bobboyi, who spoke at a five-day training exercise held in Calabar, Cross Rivers state, as saying that equitable quality in the provision of basic education was of paramount importance.

Bobboyi, who was represented by UBEC Director of Administration and Supplies, Edwin Jarumai, added that ensuring effective utilisation of available learning opportunities at the basic level necessitated collaborations with UNICEF. He said that UNICEF was providing an opportunity for Social Mobilization Officers and School Based Management Committee, SBMC; Desk Officers from UBEC and State Universal Basic Education Boards, SUBEB, to sharpen their skills towards effective service delivery
