The Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for addressing economic challenges facing State Governments through the provision of financial assistance.
Chairman of the Forum Kayode Fayemi gave the commendation on behalf of his colleagues, when he addressed State House correspondents at the end of a closed door meeting with the president in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He also appreciated the President for his efforts towards ensuring peace and stability across all troubled states in the country, adding that the Governors have had cause during the year to raise issues, about insecurity in various domains, and issues about economic challenges that the country is experiencing.
Fayemi, while commenting on how best the Governors will ensure effective utilization of the funds being provided by the federal government, noted that they were elected to lead the affairs of their states, and protect their citizens in the best manner possible.
The Forum’s Chairman also spoke on next year’s gubernatorial election in his State, saying a level-playing ground would be provided for all those interested in succeeding him.
