About 19 people have been killed in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in attacks blamed on a notorious rebel group.
Officials say the bodies of nine people who were kidnapped on Friday have been found in North Kivu Province.
In the neighbouring Ituri region, the same militia known as the Allied Democratic Forces, ADF attacked the village of Bukaka on Saturday killing ten civilians.
The ADF, which has no clear political agenda has been accused for killing around five hundred people in recent months in retaliation for an army crackdown on their bases in the forests.
In another development, Kenya’s military has denied putting any of its barrack under lockdown amid media reports that dozens of soldiers are being treated at an isolation centre for Covid-19.
Kenya Defence Forces spokesperson, Colonel Zipporah Kioko said movement in and out of barracks had not been restricted, but steps had been put in place to protect the soldiers, which include testing, routine checks of body temperature, wearing of face masks and hand sanitation points in all barracks.
