President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio has assured the Turkish Government of Nigeria’s readiness to sustain the bilateral agreement reached between both countries in the area of education, health and military collaboration to fight terrorism and insecurity.
He also promised that the Senate will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the age long bilateral relations and collaboration in critical sectors continue in the overall interest of the Nigeria and Turkey.
Senator Akpabio stated this on Wednesday, while receiving the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Hidayet Bayraktar, who visited him in his office.
The President of the Senate emphasized the need for the people to be united to fight terrorism and insecurity in Africa. We would be delighted to visit the Turkey Parliament for exchange of parliamentary ideas.
The Senate will do everything to ensure that this cooperation continues in the overall interest of the two countries.
Earlier, the Turkish Ambassador congratulated Senator Akpabio on his emergence as President of the 10th Senate, assuring the Senate leadership of improved bilateral relations between Nigeria and Turkey.
