President Buhari Says Nigeria Committed To Global Effort Against Outbreak

President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria is committed to ongoing global efforts to halt the spread of Coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic.

He gave the pledge in the solidarity messages to leaders of three diplomatic allies of Nigeria, which had become victims of the outbreak, pledging Nigeria’s unbroken solidarity with them.

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in the messages said the Federal Government will continue to diligently carry out its duty to the international community by ensuring that the spread of the disease is curtailed.

The President sent messages to Presidents Hassan Rouhani of Iran and Moon Jae-in of South Korea, and the Prime Minister of Italy, Guiseppo Conte, expressing the Federal Government’s sympathies with them.

Iran, Italy and South Korea had in the last few days recorded some of the highest numbers of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 and numbers of deaths.
