Insecurity: Report Says Over 17,000 Nigerians Killed In 2-Years

Technical Committee on the Enhancement of Security in the North has solicited the support of the Federal Ministry of Interior to address insecurity in Northern states.

Chairman of the committee, AbdulMalik Jibril, made the appeal during a courtesy visit on the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja.

Jibrin said that the committee was mandated to critically examine the threats, the capabilities of the armed forces, and the role of other critical stakeholders in the national security architecture.

He added that the committee was also saddled with the responsibility of identifying the gaps that needed to be filled to squarely deal with the security threats.

In his remarks, Tunji-Ojo commended the committee and promised that the ministry would gladly collaborate with it to ensure a safer and secure country.
