The Associate Priest, Christ the King Catholic Parish, Kurudu, Abuja Reverend Father Moses Joseph-Soussoukpor has advised marital partners to avoid humiliating each other while trying to assert authority in the family.
He gave the advice during a Holy Mass to mark the 2019 Mother’s Day celebration by the Catholic Women Organisation at Saint Joseph Mukasa Catholic Church, Gidan Mangoro, Abuja.
Joseph-Soussoukpor decried the manner most men debased their wives while trying to assert authority; shunned responsibilities; lived reckless lifestyles; and exhibited certain abusive attitudes in homes and society at large.
The Priest called for trust in marriage and godliness for partners to withstand challenges and be able to value and cherish each other as well as forge ahead without humiliation of any form. In a goodwill message, the Catholic Women Organisation Archdiocesan’s President Nkiruka Imaezue appealed to women to respect the dignity of womanhood and the sanctity of marriage
