Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has appreciated religious, traditional and community leaders, as well as security agencies in the state for their spirited pursuit of peace interventions.
State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan in a statement stated that El-Rufai made the commendation after a review of the security situation in the light of recent tensions over developments in other Northern states. He added that the Governor applauded critical stakeholders for the peace in the state.
Aruwan said the state government had reiterated that recourse to the law remained the only acceptable means of redress, and never self-help, adding that the government and security agencies will continue to monitor the situation closely and work towards curbing the activities of recalcitrant forces attempting to cause breakdown of law and order in the state.
The Commissioner stressed that security agencies would not hesitate to take action on anyone, regardless of status, playing a role in attempt to cause unrest.
