On March 30, 2024, the FCT Administration extended a helping hand to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the Ramadan fast. This compassionate gesture involved the distribution of essential food items, including rice, vegetable oil, sugar, and milk.

The recipients of this benevolence included, 17 FCT-graded chiefs Mosques within the FCT The six Area Councils FCT welfare associations.

Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike who was ably represented by Mr. Samuel Atang, the Head of Service of the FCTA, during the distribution. In his address, Barrister Wike emphasized that every individual in the FCT matters. He congratulated the Muslim community for their unwavering commitment to observing the obligatory fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

The food items were intended not only to alleviate the impact of rising food prices but also to ensure that Muslims in the FCT could break their fast with ease. Additionally, the Minister encouraged Muslims to utilize the fasting period to pray for peace in the country and the good health of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
